How to Participate in the City-Based Recruiting Days:

1. We have a site in each of the cities where the interviews will take place. It is your responsibility to get to each of the locations. If you do not live in the particular city in which you are interested, remember to consider travel expenses (flight, train, hotel). Can you realistically arrange to get to that city (or cities)? Look into opportunities for sharing rides and accommodations to decrease expenses.

2. Research the opportunities and the employers. Don't forget to look at the SLAC websites, the employer website, and any other information you can access on the internet. To search by city, Click on the "Jobs & Internships Search" on the top bar. On the left side, under "More Searches", click on " "Recruiting Day/Event Search".

3. Seriously assess your interest in and your ability to accept an interview with each organization at each recruiting day site before submitting materials (resume plus other required materials). Because 14 schools participate, it is extremely difficult to make changes once interviews times are selected. Decide on the cities and organizations in which you are interested.
BY SUBMITTING, YOU ARE MAKING A COMMITMENT TO ACCEPT THE INTERVIEW(S) IF YOU ARE SELECTED. DO NOT apply through the on-line system if you DO NOT plan to attend a recruiting day.

4. You may submit materials for any or all of the cities, to as many employers as you like.

5. Applying for all cities will be done on-line. Do not apply off-line directly to the employer if you plan to participate in the event. If you cannot attend the event, you should apply off-line.

6. Deadlines for submitting materials(resume plus other required materials):

FOR CHICAGO - Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 11:59 PM, PDT

FOR BOSTON, DC, NYC, AND PHILADELPHIA -
Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11:59 PM, PST

NO MATERIALS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE!

7. FOR CHICAGO:
A. In early November you will learn if you received an interview by receiving an e-mail for each selection. If you are selected for interviews, you must sign up for your interview times beginning November 5 and no later than November 7.

* If you have 4 or more interviews in a city, you will be called by your Career Office to sign up a day early.
* If you do not sign up for an interview by November 7, it will be assumed that you do not want the interview and the spot will be given to an alternate.

B. Alternates can begin to sign up on November 10, and should check back periodically for any last minute interview openings.
**It is critical for Chicago alternates to sign up on November 10.

8. FOR BOSTON, DC, NYC AND PHILADELPHIA:
A. In mid November you will learn if you received an interview by receiving an e-mail for each selection. If you are selected for interviews, you must sign up for your interview times beginning November 19 and no later than November 21.

* If you have 4 or more interviews in a city, you will be called by your Career Office to sign up a day early.
* If you do not sign up for an interview by November 21, it will be assumed that you do not want the interview and the spot will be given to an alternate.

B. Alternates can begin to sign up on November24, and should check back periodically for any last minute interview openings.

9. For all selected students, there will be a meeting on your campus to go over the specifics of the day(s). Date, Time and Location TBA.
